Nicolette T. Morales, a proud Chicana, has taught 20 years as an English teacher and recently five years as a Restorative Justice Teacher Advisor. With LAUSD, she has taught 6th-12th grade English including Yearbook, and Creative Writing serving inner city youth in the South, East Los Angeles and Boyle Heights areas. As a person who believes in practice and reflection, she earned a Master Degree in Education emphasizing in discussion. Shortly after she received her National Board Certification in English Language Arts. During the pandemic she sought for a second masters degree for her administrative credential.
Currently Nicolette is the Restorative Justice Teacher Advisor for Roosevelt High School, for the Los Angeles Unified School District, which is also her alma mater. There her role is to support teachers in their restorative practices and building their capacity for more restorative classrooms, host targeted circles with tier 2 students and build a youth collective (Justice League) that will serve as RJ ambassadors who host circles in advisory classes.Together with the Culture Team and youth leaders we bring to surface present climate concerns and grow our culture as a school.
